When the Chenzhou Hydropower Construction Company of Hunan Province, a subcontractor of the Ninth Engineering Bureau of China Water Conservancy and Hydropower Construction Group Corporation, carried out prefabricated beam mast lifting and moving operations at Tongwan Hydropower Station in Hunan Province, the mast crane collapsed, killing 4 people and slightly injuring 1 person. The direct cause of the accident is that the command and operation of the crane are not coordinated, and the base moves forward too much, resulting in the main rod tilting back and the center of gravity being unstable. The arrangement of the crane's wind rope is unreasonable and the force is uneven; The sudden power loss at the site made the wind rope windlass unable to start, resulting in the crane being unable to reset and collapse. The accident was determined to be a liability accident.
